Education Law Symposium Draws Crowd of 150

More than 150 school board administrators, board members, and district personnel attended Andrews and Beard's 10th Education Law Symposium on March 17th at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona.
The evening featured presentations by Firm attorneys on topics pertinent to schools currently and in the future. Firm attorneys addressed: Electronic Discovery and School Litigation, Current Trends and Legal Issues in Special Education, Negotiating Collective Bargaining Agreements, Constitutional Issues Impacting Schools, Right to Know Legal Issues, Common Problems and Mistakes in Negotiating Salary Schedules, and Tax Assessment Appeals and Loss of School District Revenue.
Guest Presenter, Jason Rhykerd, from Reclamere, a data security firm that provides data destruction, data recovery and IT Asset Management services world-wide, addressed Information Technology issues school districts need to be watching right now and in the months ahead.
The evening began with a festive St. Patrick's Day reception, included dinner, and culminated in the seminar presentations which included opportunities for individual questions.
