ATTORNEY RECEIVES DISTINGUISHED ACHIEVEMENT IN LAW AWARD

Carl P. Beard, a partner in the Firm, was awarded the Tri-State Area School Study Council's Distinguished Achievement in Law Award recently at the 14th Annual Dr. Samuel Francis School Law Symposium and Special Education Workshop held at the University of Pittsburgh.
Attorney Beard, who has been an annual presenter at the Symposium for many years, focuses his law practice in the areas of school law, special education, labor, employment and municipal law. Mr. Beard has served as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Industrial Relations at the Graduate School of Industrial Relations at St. Francis University for 15 years. He has provided special education consultation and defense representation to school districts across the commonwealth for more than 20 years and is a regular lecturer at state and regional conferences. He was the President of the School Solicitor's Association in 2007. Mr. Beard has been representing schools in special education matters for more than 20 years.

Andrews and Beard Welcomes New Attorney

Andrews and Beard is pleased to announce that Ronald N. Repak, of Johnstown, has joined the Firm. Attorney Repak will concentrate his practice in Education Law, Labor and Employment Law, and Municipal Law for Andrews and Beard, which has offices in Altoona and Johnstown.
A graduate of Richland High School, Mr. Repak received his Bachelors Degree in Political Science from Duquesne University cum laude in 2007 and his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in 2010.
Before joining Andrews and Beard, Mr. Repak was a Government Affairs and Economic Development Associate at Duane Morris Government Affairs, LLC, and a government contracts specialist at Concurrent Technologies Corporation, both in Johnstown. He also interned for Congressman Doyle of the Pittsburgh area.
Mr. Repak is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Cambria County and Blair County Bar Associations, and is admitted to practice in the Western District of Pennsylvania.
